Pop creates a surreal and voyeuristic world that is carefully constructed to tease the viewer through its somewhat mischievous and theatrical inclination. The artists act as quiet conspirators recreating a scene of part reality and part fiction. Every fourth scene viewed through the CCTV monitors is a reconstruction (acted out by the artists) creating a strange place that is not quite what it appears to be and where the viewer becomes embroiled in an unfamiliar world of trickery and illusion.
Pop is a participatory work where the audience can look into the artwork and see themselves as a part of it. ‘Where and who exactly is the camera looking at now?
