Saturday 26 Nov 5-7pm BEEF

BEEF (Bristol Experimental and Expanded Film) presents a day of immersive photochemical and sonic experimental performances curated by Louisa Fairclough.

Works will include My Tape Archive, a performance using 16mm projectors and hand-processed film loops, Vicky Smith and Shirley Pegna’s Primal, an abstract 16mm animation made directly onto the filmstrip through physical contact with film using the actions of rubbing and scraping, and Laura Phillips and Saltings’ work Untitled, which brings together the unexpected melodies of improvising musicians with imagery from a reading device for the partially-sited, creating an audio-visual ensemble educing a sense of enigma and decentralisation.

BEEF (beefbristol.org) is a film and sound collective supporting experimental practice in Bristol, providing a platform for production, distribution and critical engagement. BEEF’s members are artists, curators and researchers organising a regular programme of events, exhibitions, analogue film and sound workshops and screenings.
